Confidential File Transfer

Ephemeral, Self-Destructing File Sharing

Need to send a private SSH key, TLS certificate, or confidential configuration file? Encrypt it client-side with AES-256 and set an automatic self-destruction timer.

Engineered for Extreme Confidentiality

Files are encrypted before they leave your browser, rendering network eavesdropping useless.

⚡

In-Browser File Encryption

Your browser encrypts binary file streams into ciphertext using native Web Crypto AES-256-GCM before transmitting a single byte to our servers.

🏷️

Metadata Encryption

File names, MIME types, and file sizes are also encrypted. Observers cannot inspect what type of file was uploaded.

🔥

Automatic File Shredding

Files are automatically deleted from server storage when the download quota is fulfilled or TTL expires. No lingering artifacts.

🛡️

Secondary Passphrase Lock

Layer on an additional recipient passphrase. Decryption is derived using PBKDF2 with SHA-256 and unique cryptographic salt.

Common Ephemeral File Use Cases (Up to 200KB)

Perfect for sensitive high-impact credentials and tokens:

🔐 SSH & GPG Keys

id_rsa, id_ed25519, private keys, and public keys for server configuration.

📜 TLS/SSL Certificates

.pem, .crt, and .p12 bundle certificates exchanged between infrastructure engineers.

⚙️ Environment Configurations

.env.production files containing secret database passwords, JWT secrets, and API credentials.

📑 Sensitive Documents

Confidential legal agreements, ID proofs, and sensitive CSV exports sent to clients.

Ephemeral File Sharing FAQs

How does VanishShare encrypt files before uploading?
When you select a file, your browser uses the native Web Crypto API to convert the file into an ArrayBuffer and encrypts it with an ephemeral 256-bit AES-GCM key. Both the file contents and its filename are encrypted before reaching the network.
What file types can I share?
You can share any file format up to 200KB. This is ideal for SSH private keys (.id_rsa, .pem), SSL/TLS certificates (.crt, .p12), environment variable files (.env), license keys, and confidential PDF/CSV documents.
Are files completely deleted from the server?
Yes. Once the designated download limit is fulfilled or the TTL timer expires, the encrypted file artifact is permanently deleted from storage. Even if forensic recovery were attempted on storage drives, the file is unreadable without the client key.
