DevOps & Team Security

Share Passwords & Credentials Securely

Stop pasting production secrets, API tokens, and database passwords into Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email threads. Use zero-knowledge self-destructing links.

Built for Developers, IT Teams & Agencies

Replace risky chat pastes with zero-knowledge ephemeral links.

🔑

API Keys & Service Tokens

Share OpenAI, AWS, Stripe, or GitHub access tokens with teammates without polluting chat search logs or git repositories.

🗄️

Database & SSH Credentials

Deliver root connection strings, production passwords, and SSH keys safely during deployment or incident response.

👥

Employee Onboarding

Distribute initial temporary logins and credentials to new hires with mandatory single-view self-destruction.

🤝

Client Handoffs

Agencies and freelancers can deliver CMS admin logins and API credentials to clients with custom passphrases.

Team Security Best Practices Checklist

Avoid security compliance breaches with these baseline rules:

✓

Enforce 1-View Download Limits

Set "Max Download Times: 1 Time" so the secret vanishes immediately after the recipient retrieves it.

✓

Use Short Expirations (TTL)

Select a 10-minute or 1-day TTL so unread secrets automatically self-destruct rather than sitting active indefinitely.

✓

Verify Recipient via Email OTP

Enter the recipient's authorized work email. They must enter a verified one-time code before the payload is released.

Credential Sharing FAQs

Frequently asked questions about enterprise secret transmission.

Why is sharing passwords via Slack, Teams, or email unsafe?
Chat apps and email providers store messages in searchable plaintext archives, server logs, and cloud backups indefinitely. If an employee account or enterprise chat workspace is compromised, all shared credentials are exposed.
Can our cloud provider or VanishShare admins view the passwords?
No. The password is encrypted entirely in your browser using AES-256-GCM. The decryption key exists solely in the URL hash fragment (#key=...), which web browsers never transmit to servers over HTTP. Neither the hosting provider nor database administrators have the cryptographic key.
How can I ensure only my team member can open the link?
Add your team member's work email address in the 'Recipient Emails' field. Even if someone intercepts the link, VanishShare requires an email verification code (OTP) before decrypting the secret.
